Ducklings rescued from oncoming train seem relieved as they are returned to their mother

A group of fluffy ducklings appeared relieved after they were rescued from the path of an oncoming train.

The little birds were trapped in some train tracks when kind engineers James Fox and Ryan Milligan rescued them.

The ducklings were stuck, trying to get back to their mother when they were found by the geotechnics specialists.

James Fox snapped a selfie with one of them after he had moved the ducklings to safety.

The pair were working on the Main East Line near Pongakawa in the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand when they saved the ducks.

They were returning to base in a road-rail protector vehicle when the driver saw six ducklings stuck between the rails trying to get back to their mum.
