All I want for Christmas is a movie of Mariah Carey’s iconic holiday song.
The singer announced the news Tuesday in a trailer for an animated movie based on the 1994 “All I Want for Christmas Is You” off Carey’s “Merry Christmas” album.
“Every holiday season, there are traditions we can’t live without,” the trailer reads, “the tree, the stockings, the presents and Mariah Carey.”
The movie will continue the plot of her 2015 children’s book of the same name and follow a young Carey (voiced by Breanna Yde) prove that she can pet-sit a dog named Jack to convince her parents to buy her a puppy named Princess, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Henry Winkler, Lacey Chabert, Phil Morris, Laya Hayes and Keiko Agena will also lend their voices to the animated picture.
Guy Vasilovich will direct and Temple Mathews is writing the script.
Carey will narrate.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” is due during the holiday season this year.
